Just in case we needed something else. Last week saw one of the biggest stories in wrestling in a very long time as the Raw Women’s Title match was announced as the main event of WrestleMania 35. Then things got a little bit more complicated when Charlotte, who is challenging for the title became SmackDown Women’s Champion the next day. As you might have guessed, this was going to lead to a change of the WrestleMania match, and now we might know the details.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, this week’s Monday Night Raw could see a change in the WrestleMania main event, with the match being turned into a Winner Take All match. This is a change from the middle of the week, when the idea was to have whoever won the fall win the title of whichever champion they defeated, though now it seems that the winner will be leaving with both titles. The official status is likely to be addressed on Monday Night Raw.
It’s what set things up. Check out the title change from SmackDown Live in a very good match:
Opinion: Is there really any other option? The thing to remember is that WrestleMania is going to be for a much wider audience than just the main WWE viewers. How confusing would it be to some of them if someone lost a match and left with a title anyway? Just let Becky Lynch walk out with both titles, either individually or unified, the latter of which would be the better choice.
Do you like the idea of unified titles? How will the match end? Let us know in the comments below.
