This wasn’t so bright. After tearing NXT apart as half of the Revival, it would seem seem likely that Scott Dawson might be in for a future call up to the main roster. Apparently some of the fans watching Smackdown tonight thought the same but Dawson wasn’t thrilled with this prospect of debuting in Tag Team Turmoil. According to 411mania.com, Dawson tweeted the following message during the match:
“We’re the hottest act in tag wrestling. You think we’re going to debut in a stupid multi-team gimmick match?! #TheRevival #TopGuys #GTTOAT”
An apology was later tweeted but also seems to have been deleted. The apology read:
“Admittedly my last tweet was stupid. I’ve worked w/ all those teams & have the utmost respect for them. Stupid tweet to try to rile fans.”
This is one of those things that probably got Dawson in a lot of trouble in a hurry and he was ordered to delete the tweets before things got out of hand. While you could argue that Dawson should have been able to say something like this and just call it keeping character, this is the sort of thing that just doesn’t work in today’s wrestling world.
Do you think Dawson did anything wrong? Should he have had to apologize? Let us know in the comments below.
