When Goldberg beat Brock Lesnar in under a minute and a half, it seemed clear we hadn’t seen the last of the big man. The only question would be when his next appearance would come. We reported that Goldberg would compete at the 2017 Royal Rumble, but tonight the superstar confirmed he would competing IN the 2017 Royal Rumble.

“The simple truth,” said Goldberg, “is that I did what I said I was gonna do. I came. I fought. And I conquered the Beast, Brock Lesnar.”

With promises about his beatdown to Lesnar fulfilled, Goldberg said “You bet your ass I got one more title run left in me,” and announced himself as the first competitor in the next Royal Rumble. “At the Royal Rumble match, everyone is next!”

The Royal Rumble takes place on January 29th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX. The titular main event is expected to be a 30-man battle royal with Raw and SmackDown superstars competing for a title shot in the main event of WrestleMania.

Let’s hope Goldberg’s time in the Rumble is a bit longer than his match with Lesnar.
