He’s a draw. There are certain stars in WWE who have reached a different level than the rest of the company. Those are the names who have become the biggest stars in the company and are going to be seen as such by the fans. It often leads to increased interest in their appearances, which was the case again this week. This time though, there was no such appearance to build towards.

This week, WWE had announced that Roman Reigns would be appearing at live event in Fayetteville, North Carolina on May 20, even going so far as to buy radio air time to promote the match. However, on Wednesday, WWE issued a statement saying that Reigns was incorrectly advertised for the show and that he will not be appearing. Refunds were offered until 7:30pm on the day of the event. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE had sold 3,816 tickets prior to Reigns being advertised. Between the announcement and the correction, over 700 more tickets were sold, which is considered a significant amount.

Opinion: This is something that happens every so often and thankfully WWE corrected it rather quickly. It also does help a bit that the refunds are available, but at the same time, WWE probably made money off of their own error and that isn’t the best look in the world. Reigns being around is a rare treat these days and it isn’t surprising that the fans are going to want to see him, even if he isn’t there.
