They didn’t do it. WWE has quite the task with setting up its Premium Live Events. The company has to set up as many matches as they can put together and make the fans want to see what they are being offered. That is much easier said than done, and it doesn’t help when the company does not deliver on what they promise. That is what took place this weekend.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: VIDEO: Liv Morgan Breaks Character In Emotional Speech After WWE Crown Jewel
Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Crown Jewel event from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The show was scheduled to include a grudge match between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. The two came to the ring but got into a brawl which went around the arena. Owens eventually put Orton through a table to wrap things up, with the match never officially starting. There is no word on if the match will take place at a later date.
It could have been good. Check out what happened at the event:
Opinion: While this could have been worse, this feels like something of false advertising. The match was one of the bigger set up for the show but then it didn’t happen. It’s a shame that we didn’t get to see it and it’s even more annoying for fans who wanted to see what WWE was offering. Maybe they’ll make up for it later, but I’ve never liked a match being announced and then not happening, even in a situation like this.
