It better be a good reason. One of the biggest wrestling (or non-wrestling, depending on how you look at it) stories of the year has been the relationship status of John Cena and Nikki Bella. The pair seemed ready to head down the aisle but now things are done for good. The split has been a topic of discussion since, and Bella is now talking about why they’re done as a couple.
Bella has been doing something wrestling related as well. Check out what it might be.
Bella was recently interviewed by Pagesix.com on a variety of topics, mainly focusing on her relationship with Cena and the activities she’s currently working on. She also goes into a discussion of wanting children, which was a major sticking point between her and Cena which seems to have led to their split. The topic of her split with Cena being a ratings ploy is brought up as well. Here are some highlights.
On A Big Reason She Split With Cena
“One person had to sacrifice their career [for us to be together], but I’m not willing to do that. I’m just not the girl who hangs out on set. I have my own career. I want to be one of Forbes’ top entrepreneurs.”
On The Possibility Of The Split Being A Ratings Ploy
“People said it was fake for ratings, [but] don’t you think a wedding would be best for ratings? I would never fake a break-up. And when people keep questioning it, it actually makes your heart ache even more.”
And On Why She’s Willing To Wait To Be A Mom
“She [niece Birdie] has been the best form of birth control for me. Here I was dying to be a mom. Now I want to push it back. Can my clock tick until my 40s?”
Well this is awkward now.
Opinion: Well, Bella is certainly on her way to having all of these outside goals, though the level of success is still to be determined. As for whether or not the wedding with Cena was called off as a ratings ploy, I have no idea. It strikes me as odd that things keep changing so fast and almost always around the time of a new season, but maybe that’s just the cynic in me. Either way, Bella has certainly become a bigger name than she was before the series started so she’s succeeding in at least one way.
What do you think of Bella’s goals? Will she ever be back in WWE full time? Let us know in the comments below.
