The list just keeps growing. As John Cena moves further and further away from WWE, his list of activities outside of the company continues to grow. He’s hosted awards shows, acted in big budget movies, guest hosted the Today Show and generally just become a mainstream celebrity. With all of that having taken place so far, it’s high time that he’s gotten his own show, which is exactly what’s happened.

Here’s the trailer:

As announced in a new video on Facebook, Cena will be hosting a prank show along with hypnotist Chris Jones called Double Take, airing on Facebook Watch. The show will feature pranks being pulled on various other celebrities and, according to Entertainment Weekly by way of Wrestlinginc.com, will run six episodes, each running twelve to fifteen minutes. The series premieres on September 5.

Opinion: This isn’t the kind of show that I would watch, but Cena getting his name out there more and more frequently like this is a very good thing for his career. I have no idea if this show is going to be a success, but getting the gig in the first place is a positive sign. Maybe he’ll become an even bigger star down the road, but he’s certainly putting in the work and that’s going to get him somewhere.
