They who hath the gold and all that jazz. WrestleMania is the biggest night in wrestling with no exceptions. The eyes of the wrestling world look to the WWE and the question isn’t will something big happen but rather how many things. More often than not the biggest changes involve titles and there were plenty on the line at WrestleMania 35. So how did the champions do?
WrestleMania 35 was a bad night for champions as only two titles were retained out of ten on the line. The SmackDown Tag Team and United States Titles were retained while the Cruiserweight, Raw Tag Team, Universal, Women’s Tag Team, SmackDown World Intercontinental, Raw Women’s and SmackDown Women’s Titles all changed hands. The Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles were defended at the same time with Becky Lynch winning them both at once.
One new champion is more excited than others. Check out Kofi Kingston’s reaction to winning the WWE Championship:
Opinion: Twenty four hours before WrestleMania, only the Women’s Tag Team Titles and SmackDown Tag Team Titles were held by faces. Now with the show over, the opposite is true with just the United States Titles and Women’s Tag Team Titles being held by heels. That was one of the most eventful nights in wrestling history and it’s certainly been a memorable one.
