The Network it is a changing. Believe it or not we are coming up on the six year anniversary of the WWE Network. Launched in February 2014, the WWE Network has changed wrestling fans’ lives for the better. There has never been a better and easier way to see a whole lot of wrestling in one place for a pretty good price. The system has undergone a few changes over the years, but this is a big one.
Over the years, one of the rumored stories has been the idea of a tiered system for the WWE Network. While nothing has ever been set in stone, there has always been the chance of something like this coming up. The idea generally seemed to have been a three tiered system with a free version similar to YouTube, a middle version like the current one and a premium level with exclusive content. It seems that we may actually be seeing something coming to fruition.
According to PWInsider.com, the free version of the WWE Network was quietly rolled out on Thursday with little announcement. At the moment, it is not clear if this is the full version or a beta version being used as a way to clear out bugs and optimize the system before a full roll out takes place. The original plan called for the three tiered system to be rolled out in January 2020, but that time frame may have changed.
There are some interesting moments on the Network. Check out some of the newer ones:
Opinion: This is something that was bound to happen at some point and I can’t say I’m even remotely surprised. I’ve been a WWE Network subscriber since the day it launched and I will be signing up for the premium tier as soon as it is available. That is the kind of thing that makes me curious about what we will be seeing, but I am almost scared to see what they see as “premium”.
What do you think of the Network? Which tier, if any, will you be on? Let us know in the comments below.
