Welcome back. There are a lot of wrestlers under the WWE banner but there are only so many hours of television a week. At some point you are just going to run out of time to put everyone out there. That is going to become a problem at some point and sometimes WWE is going to bring in even more people, including some who you might know rather well. That was the case this weekend.
One of the biggest matches at Clash Of Champions was Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton in an ambulance match. The match came as a result of several weeks of the two of them trading huge shots to the head, with both of them being put into an ambulance. Orton had a bit more practice though, as he had Punted a bunch of people over the last few weeks. Some of those Punts came back to haunt him on Sunday.
During the Orton vs. McIntyre match, Big Show, Christian and Shawn Michaels, all people whom Orton had Punted over the summer, interfered to attack Orton at various points throughout the match. Orton defeated both of them in matches over the course of the summer, with Punts included in both cases. McIntyre went on to retain the title by putting Orton in the ambulance, which Ric Flair drove away after the match.
Can you blame them? Check out what got Orton in trouble in the first place:
Opinion: This worked out rather well as a storyline for the match as Orton’s past sins came back to haunt him. I’m not sure what that is going to mean for Orton going forward, but it made sense after everything else that he has done over the course of the summer. This should be it for the feud, but who knows where things are going from here as they might wind up in the Cell.
What did you think of the match? Whose return was the best? Let us know in the comments below.
