How about those blue people? We’re coming up on “Wrestlemania XXXIII” and one of the most important things for WWE is the audience for its weekly TV shows. There are less than two weeks to go before the biggest show of the year and that means things need to be picking up on TV. So just how did “Smackdown Live” do this week?
According to Wrestlinginc.com, this week’s “Smackdown Live” drew an average of 2.647 million viewers, up very slightly over last week’s 2.628 million. This number is still 22% lower than “Monday Night Raw”, which had one of the worst weeks it has done in around twenty years save for facing major sporting events or a national holiday. You can read the full results here.
Opinion: At this point, “Smackdown Live” staying about the same is a major improvement over the nosedive that “Monday Night Raw” took. While there are multiple factors as to why the Tuesday show stays more steady, (“Smackdown Live” only being two hours long and being over promptly at 10pm instead of around 11:15pm would be at the top of my list) it’s still lagging behind “Monday Night Raw” and there’s not much of a way around that.
