They’re in. There are all kinds of titles in the wrestling world and while some of them are more important than others, they all had to come from somewhere. It can be a big deal when one of those titles is introduced, especially when someone wins a title for the first time. That is what we are going to be seeing soon, but in this case we are going to be seeing it happen twice.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Ricky Starks Signs His NXT Contract, New Name Revealed

Last year, WWE announced the introduction of their ID Program, which will see independent wrestlers signing WWE deals and potentially be brought into the company later on. This week, WWE CCO Triple H introduced the Men’s and Women’s WWE ID Titles, with the WWE ID Twitter account announcing that tournaments will be held across multiple promotions to crown the first champions. The titles will be defended on the independent circuit.

Opinion: This is where things can get interesting as it shows you just how much WWE is pushing the ID Program. At the end of the day, a wrestler is going to feel like a bigger deal when they are associated with WWE and holding one of the company’s titles should be that much more important. I’m curious to see where this is going, which is a good sign for everything they are doing. This is a different world for WWE as their changes continue.
