It’s nice to see a familiar voice. A lot of wrestling is built on nostalgia. So many wrestling fans would rather remember the good old days, even if those days may not have been so good in the first place. It’s something that happens in almost every sports or field of entertainment and wrestling is no different. That is why we might be in for a WWE return sooner than later.
One of the most important parts of wrestling is commentary. There are so many things that a commentator needs to do, including telling you what’s going on, pointing fans in the right direction and telling the story that the company wants you to hear. It takes the right kind of person to make that work and there are only a handful who have been truly successful at the whole thing. One of them is coming back to work soon.
As announced on the Jerry Lawler Show podcast, Lawler will be returning to Monday Night Raw next week. Lawler has been away from WWE television over the last few weeks due to fears of the Coronavirus. However, he has confirmed that he will be returning to the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This means that Lawler will be on the next several weeks of shows, as the company is holding a marathon taping session this weekend.
Lawler has been around for a long time. Check out some of his Monday Night Raw moments:
Opinion: No pun intended but this is good to hear. Lawler really is a legend in WWE and has been doing commentary for the company for the better part of thirty years now. I know some people aren’t too fond of him but there is a familiarity with him that makes his presence on the show that makes things feel better. If nothing else he can add some personality to the show, which could certainly use it at this point.
Are you glad Lawler is back? Who is your favorite commentary team? Let us know in the comments below.
