That’s quite the fan club. Kurt Angle is headlining the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017 and that means he’ll be making the rounds on the interview circuit. One of the most common questions wrestlers are going to get is about who they consider to be the best of all time, which is something Angle was recently asked about.
In a new interview with Forbes, Angle was asked who he thought would eventually go down as the greatest of all time. His answer might surprise you a little bit: John Cena. Here are his comments:
“He has been the staple of sports entertainment for the last 11 years. The incredible thing about John, John has never been known, personally for all of us, as a fighter. He’s not a guy who’s going to to throw fists and mix it up. But what he has been able to endure for 12, 13 years. Nobody has ever done that. John Cena is the man. I don’t know anybody else who has gone 13 years on top…I’m not going to say he’s was greatest athlete in WWE history, but he will go down as the greatest of all time in WWE history.”

Opinion: If things continue to go the way they seem, Cena is going to be a name that comes up more and more over on these lists over the years. He can talk, he made money and he’s had some of the best matches ever. As Angle put it, Cena might not have been the best at any one given thing but there are few who can match him for the overall package.
A debuting John Cena accepts Kurt Angle's open challenge: SmackDown, June 27, 2002
