They did it. WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world, as well as the most successful in a lot of ways. Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Money In The Bank event. WWE has issued a press release, announcing that the show was the highest grossing event the company has ever run at the 02 Arena in London, England. Combining Money In The Bank with the previous night’s SmackDown in the same venue, the company brought in $5.4 million in gate revenue alone. Viewership and sponsorship numbers set Money In The Bank records as well.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE has gotten to brag about a lot in recent months and that shouldn’t be a surprise. While having the record for the most money brought in from ticket sales is more based on higher prices, they are getting more people to watch their shows and that is a very good thing. WWE is growing from a business standpoint and the scary thing is they could keep growing for a very long time to come.
