This is the hard part. A lot happened at the Royal Rumble over the weekend, but one of the most surprising developments was Shane McMahon and the Miz winning the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. They had barely teamed together before, but now they were winning the titles. They’re the champions, but that means they have to defend the titles, which is coming up soon.
This week on SmackDown Live, the Usos became the new #1 contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles and will receive their shot at Elimination Chamber. The shot was earned as the Usos defeated Heavy Machinery, New Day and the Bar in a four way elimination match. This will be the first title defense for Miz and McMahon, who asked for competition earlier in the night.
They get along so well that they even have a tribute video. Check out what Miz thinks of McMahon:
Opinion: That’s quite the team getting a title shot, though I’m still not sold on Miz and McMahon as champions. The SmackDown Live tag team division isn’t the strongest in the world
