During the most recent edition of The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy was asked why Shelton Benjamin only made it as far as he did in WWE. Hardy said he felt that WWE did not see Benjamin as a larger than life personality, which limited how far he could have gone. Hardy also said that he believed if Benjamin came up today, he might have had a higher ceiling due to the modern style.
Benjamin was quite the marvel in certain ways. Check out some of his better WWE moments:
Opinion: I can absolutely see the thinking here, as Benjamin was known for his incredible athleticism, but that doesn’t always translate into interest. At the same time, the peak of Benjamin’s career, around 2005, came around the same time as the rise of John Cena and Batista, which came on top of names like Chris Jericho, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Undertaker, Edge and more. Benjamin is very talented, but there is no shame in not being able to crack through that kind of a lineup.
