Well it could have been worse. You never know when someone is going to suffer an injury in wrestling. Some of them can be a lot worse than others, but when you have someone who has already suffered a severe injury in the first place, it makes things even worse. It makes the waiting period after someone gets hurt all the worse as you never know what it’s going to be. That was the case on Tuesday, but now we know some more.
According to Ringsidenews.com, Tommaso Ciampa is not severely injured after what looked to be a bad spot on SmackDown Live. On this week’s show, Ciampa suffered a scary moment as his knee seemed to buckle on a sunset bomb to Sheamus during a tag match. Ciampa immediately grabbed his knee and had to tag out, though he did finish the match. Back in 2017, Ciampa suffered a torn ACL that put him on the shelf for nearly a year.
It could have been worse. Check out the tag match in question:
Opinion: That’s a huge relief. Now that WWE is doing some weird mixture of the main roster and NXT, Ciampa is all the more valuable as he’s the reigning NXT Champion. It seems that the knee is fine though and that’s what matters most. I don’t want to imagine him going down and everything getting put on hold, especially with the big ending to the feud seemingly in sight.
What do you think of the NXT stars moving up to the main roster? Who will take Ciampa’s title? Let us know in the comments below.
