In charge. There are all kinds of people who work together to make a wrestling show work and several of them will never appear on television. However, those are the people who will work together to make what does appear on television that much better. It can be a big deal when someone is moved into a top spot and that is what we saw again this week in WWE.

According to Fightful Select, John Swikata is the new head writer for SmackDown, replacing Ryan Callahan, who is said to have parted ways with WWE. Swikata was previously a senior writer for WWE and has been part of the company for ten years. While there is no word on when Swikata took over, it is believed that he had a hand in the direction of this week’s SmackDown, which has received praise backstage.

Opinion: This is the kind of change that has to take place every so often for whatever reason. I’m not sure why Callahan left the company but it is a good sign that someone from within is taking his spot. If nothing else, it means we should not be in for a dramatic shake up, which is one of the worst things that can happen in a promotion. For now, we seem to be in for a good change of pace, at least if this week was anything to go on.
