This isn’t good. It’s well known that Impact Wrestling isn’t in the best place financially. They’ve had money woes since the company was founded but still manage to find a way to pay for some rather questionable things. Whether it’s paying a reality star to come in or having American Top Team fighters showing up week to week, they’ve done some questionable things. Now though, it seems to be getting worse.
According to a post on Twitter, a company called SmythCasting is holding a casting call for actors to appear at the upcoming “Impact Wrestling” tapings. They will be paid $12.50 per hour with four hours a night. The listing says it is looking for 50-75 people, which is a small portion of the arena.

Here’s what they’ll be paid to see.

Opinion: I mean….what do you even say to this? This is the promotion that doesn’t have full time referees at the moment but they can give money to fans to act entertained by a low rated TV show? I have no idea how they can afford this kind of thing and even if they get tax breaks for having more Canadians employed, I can’t imagine this makes financial sense. What it does tell me is they can’t get people to buy tickets and make money that way, which really isn’t a good sign.
Is Impact Wrestling in big trouble? Would you go to a taping if they paid you? Let us know in the comments below.
