Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega recently had a war of words via Twitter, which intrigued many wrestling fans. They began to wonder what would happen if the two dominating personalities ever competed in the ring.

They don’t have to wait much longer.

Last night, at IWGP’s “Power Struggle” event, Omega successfully defended the United States Championship against Baretta. After the match, he waited around the ring asking who his next challenger would be, but nobody showed up.

As he was about to leave, the following video showed on the screen:

In the video, Jericho made his presence known and challenged Omega to a match on January 4, 2018 at “Wrestle Kingdom 12.” He said that while many, including Shawn Michaels, Edge and CM Punk have claimed to be best, they’ve all disappeared; yet Jericho has remained.

Following the promo, Omega would speak in Japanese and accept the match. You can see a full video of the encounter below:

Editor’s Note:

This intrigues me. It’s not secret that Kenny Omega is a very gifted athlete, and I can only imagine what he and the legendary “Y2J” will be able to accomplish in the ring together. This should be a lot of fun to watch!
