They’re moving on up. Over the last few weeks, “Impact Wrestling” has had another change of direction. This time around they’re going with a much simpler style with more basic, easy to follow stories and a long match to close most shows. That’s certainly different than what they’ve done at different times over the years and the shows have gotten a little bit better. The question though is are people watching. This week’s show didn’t have a major match announced coming in, so how many people tuned in for what wasn’t as big of an episode?

According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of “Impact Wrestling” drew 399,000 viewers and a .1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. These numbers are up 10% and 11% respectively from last week’s 362,000 viewers and .09 rating. The rating is the same as it was two weeks ago but the viewership is the highest since the July 5, 2016 episode, which drew 410,000 viewers. This week’s show was headlined by Austin Aries vs. Matt Sydal in a title for title match which had been announced earlier in the show.

Opinion: I was skeptical about what they would have with the new regime but at the moment, things are working out fairly well. The numbers are indeed increasing but they need to keep increasing. Doing a good number is a positive sign but what would be a lot more positive is getting them up even higher and doing so consistently. That’s where “Impact Wrestling” has always had issues but at least they’re doing well for now. Hopefully “Redemption” works out as well and they don’t change things up again to cause another reset.

What did you think of this week’s show? Can they keep the increases coming? Let us know in the comments below.
