The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that back in 2019, WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart offered to work as an agent for AEW. Instead, AEW President Tony Khan wanted Hart to work as an on-screen character but not have any backstage authority. Hart reportedly made the same offer to WWE but was turned down. One of the possible reasons Hart was turned down was he wanted to work from home rather than go on the road. Hart is said to find the story “overblown” as it is old news.

Opinion: I can understand the idea of not being interested in having Hart work remotely and it definitely takes away some of the edge from “AEW and WWE turned Hart down”. Hart is one of the most revered names in wrestling history and I’m sure he could offer a lot, but there are certain things that he would have to do to make that work. If he isn’t willing to do so, it’s understandable that it wouldn’t work.
