He’ll be gone for a bit. There are all kinds of injuries that can take place in wrestling and you never know how long someone might be out of action. Some of the worst require surgery, which can leave a wrestler on the sidelines even longer. It appears that is going to be the case again for an AEW star, who has been required to go under the knife to take care of a situation.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: How WWE Is Working On More International Expansion, Their First Step

AEW’s Kota Ibushi suffered an ankle injury during a match with Pro Wrestling NOAH on January 2. As a result, Ibushi has announced (on Twitter, with translation via Fightful) that he will be undergoing surgery on his left ankle. The severity of the injury is not clean and there is nothing to indicate when he will be able to return to the ring. Ibushi last wrestled for AEW on November 15.

Ibushi has been around in AEW. Check out some of his time there:

Opinion: This is something that you never want to hear, as an injury can take someone down out of nowhere and that is going to be the case with Ibushi. Ankle surgery is a terrible thing to see as you never know how long someone is going to be gone. While he hasn’t been around in AEW very often, you never want to see someone be put n the shelf for any time, so hopefully he is back soon.

What do you think of the situation? How should AEW use Ibushi? Let us know in the comments below.
