That’s holding things back. There are multiple reasons for a wrestler to leave a promotion and some of them are a lot less interesting than others. While the issues that stem from behind the scenes drama, there are other times where it is little more than a financial difficulty. That is the case again, and now we might be losing one of the biggest names in WWE history as a result.

Back in August, Edge defeated Sheamus in the last match on his current contract. This has led to speculation that Edge could be heading to AEW, though he has said that WWE has sent him a new contract offer. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, Edge and WWE are said to be “far apart” on money for a new deal. This is said to be a similar situation as Drew McIntyre and LA Knight. There is no word on what Edge plans to do next or if he is willing to accept a lower offer to return to WWE.

Opinion: This is the kind of issue that is going to happen every so often as at the end of the day, the wrestlers are professionals and out to make as much money as possible. Edge is a big star and wants to be paid, and when you consider just how much money WWE has floating around most of the time, it makes sense for a star to expect to make more. Hopefully the two sides figure it out, as it’s quite the situation.
