The wrestling isn’t what matters the most. We’re less than ten days away from Takeover: Chicago II and while the card looks great, it doesn’t quite mean as much unless you factor in the big story that took place a year earlier. One of the biggest matches on the show was set up at the end of Takeover: Chicago and the story is still going strong, albeit with quite the long gap in the middle. The gap, and the story itself really kicked into high gear in a big time match and WWE wants to look back at it.
Oh and there was a great match before the story took place.
Opinion: While I can’t bring myself to say that a devastating injury was a good thing for Ciampa’s career, I can’t imagine he would be where he is now without it. At the end of the day, waiting that long for the big feud itself allowed Gargano to become a much bigger star and that made their match mean that much more. The ladder match shown is very good, but that angle after the match is even better and meant way more in both the short and long runs.
