Welcome back. There are a lot of names under the WWE umbrella and that means there are going to be several stories going on at the same time. With so many things going on, WWE is tasked with finding different ways to present their wrestlers and stories. That can be easier said than done, but occasionally you can find a story that is tailor written for someone, which seems to be the case at the moment.
It is rare to see someone make it into their fourth decade as a professional wrestler and still be a popular star. These things can happen every now and then and when they do, a wrestling company would be smart to capitalize on it while they could. That is what WWE has on their hands at the moment, and now they need to do what they can with what they have.
WWE has announced that Jeff Hardy will be making his return to SmackDown on the May 8 episode. During this week’s SmackDown, the fourth part of a Hardy video series aired, with Hardy’s return being announced at the end. Sheamus reacted to the video, saying that he would be waiting for Hardy next week. This comes after several weeks of Sheamus not being happy with all of the attention that Hardy has received. Hardy underwent surgery for a knee injury in April 2019 and has only wrestled once since, defeating King Corbin on the March 13, 2020 SmackDown.
This could be a big one. Check out Hardy coming back and what is waiting on him:
Opinion: I’m not the biggest Hardy fan but WWE has done a great job of making me want to see what they have planned. Hardy is not likely to be around professional wrestling much longer just due to his age, so hopefully WWE has something big in mind for him. That being said, I’m not sure how wise it is to put Hardy into a top spot when his legal issues are still in front of him.
What do you expect from Hardy? Will he ever be World Champion again? Let us know in the comments below.
