So long. The wrestling business is a world that can change at the drop of a hat. You never know when someone might be done with a company out of nowhere, which may or may not be a good thing. Sometimes someone needs to go somewhere else and that is the kind of thing that can take you by surprise. That seems to be the case with a pair of wrestlers, including a legend.
A wrestling company needs a few legends, or at least veterans, on their roster. Having a bunch of unknowns or wrestlers who have yet to be proven does not offer much, as there is next to no way of knowing where they are. You need someone established to serve as a benchmark, which is where Impact Wrestling has some good options. One of those options is going away though.
According to PWInsider.com, both Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes have departed Impact Wrestling. Van Dam had not been under a long term contract and had only been appearing under a number of short term agreements. His storyline with Sami Callihan wrapped up last week and the two have left the company. There is a chance that the two could come back in the future. Van Dam and Forbes came to Impact Wrestling in April 2019.
It was a nice run. Check out some of Van Dam’s run with the company:

Opinion: Honestly, this is probably the best thing for everyone involved. Van Dam is far from looking horrible in the ring, but at the same time he will be fifty years old before the end of the year. He and Forbes were certainly a new direction with their heel turn so it was nice to see something new. That being said, how much longer could it work for Van Dam? He can’t be in the ring at a high level that much longer so maybe it makes more sense leaving now rather than waiting until it gets horrible.
What did you think of Van Dam and Forbes? Will he work at a high level anywhere else? Let us know in the comments below.
