Who else is new? We’re less than a week away from Elimination Chamber and the card seems to be set up. With the bigger matches out of the way, there is time left over to add in some extra details for the show’s namesake matches. Both matches have some things that can be announced in advance and even though that’s not always the case, both matches have had some extra information set up this year.
This week on SmackDown Live, several developments were announced for Sunday’s Elimination Chamber matches. First, Mustafa Ali has been removed from the men’s match due to injury with Kofi Kingston replacing him. Also in the men’s match, Randy Orton will be the final entrant, having won a gauntlet match on SmackDown Live. Finally, the teams of Bayley and Sasha Banks and Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville will start the women’s match, having taken falls in a pair of triple threat matches on this week’s Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live.
You can imagine his reaction. Check out how Ali felt about losing his spot in the Chamber:
Opinion: That’s a lot of changes to make to a show in two days but WWE made it work well enough. It’s understandable that Ali got injured and really isn’t surprising given his high flying, daredevil style. I’m not wild on having the two other announcements made in advance but they don’t really change all that much. Hopefully the matches are both quality, which is really all that matters.
