No one is perfect. There are very few stories in wrestling that seem to have a new twist to them every single day. However, that is more than the case this week with the whole Crown Jewel/Leaving Saudi Arabia ordeal from last week. It seems that something new is coming up every day about it and we still do not seem to be any more clear about what really happened in the whole thing. That being said, there are a few things that we are starting to find out did not happen and one of them was supposed to have taken place on Monday. That’s what retractions and apologies are for though.

On Monday, a report came out that WWE held a meeting during the afternoon with the talent to talk about everything that went on with Crown Jewel and the company’s problems with getting out of the country. At the same meeting, Seth Rollins allegedly gave a speech that was described as “rah rah” in nature. However, Rollins has since denied that speech took place and has received an apology from Dave Meltzer, who originally reported the story. Meltzer said that the story was not true and that he got the information wrong. Rollins has yet to respond to Meltzer’s apology.

That’s not all though. The meeting did indeed take place but Rollins did not speak during the whole thing. However, according to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, AJ Styles did, giving his thoughts on the whole situation, though the specifics of what he said are not mentioned. Styles is considered a respected veteran backstage and his thoughts matter in a situation like this. Styles also discussed the events on his Mixer account on Sunday, saying that he believes the explanation of mechanical issues and saying that if he had any other issues, he would bring them up with the source, meaning WWE management.

Rollins may not have had time for a speech on Monday as he was having a very good match. Check out him challenging Adam Cole for the NXT Title:

Opinion: This is something that is going to happen from time to time and it is nice to see Meltzer admit that he either made a mistake or was given wrong information. It is certainly better than having him say that he believes it happened and make Rollins out to be a liar, as it very well could just be a case of Meltzer being told something incorrect. Either way, the whole thing is a complete mess at this point and hopefully WWE can move on in a hurry without causing any more drama or bad feelings among either the talent, the fans, or even Saudi Arabia.
