According to Wrestlinginc.com, Amore knew of the police investigation into the rape allegations against him and simply didn’t tell WWE about them. WWE was asked for comment about them on Monday, which happened to be the day of the huge “Monday Night Raw” 25th Anniversary show. They were now dealing with the Amore situation on one of their biggest TV days ever, which was a huge ordeal. His release doesn’t suggest that WWE believes he is guilty, but rather him making a very bad decision to not tell WWE about the investigation. This is also seen as the last straw as Amore has been a problem for a long time.
Here’s Amore’s last match with the company.
Opinion: With that kind of an issue, how in the world could WWE not release Amore? If these allegations are true and Amore is convicted, WWE has to deal with questions about having someone with that kind of a record on their roster during an investigation. That’s not WWE’s fault, but it’s a problem they would have to address because Amore didn’t say something earlier. That was a really bad move on Amore’s part and it’s completely understandable that WWE let him go.
