That could be worse. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and you never know when you might see someone be put on the shelf for a long time. There are various degrees of injuries as well, with some of them being situations that wrestlers can work through rather than needing time off. So far, the former seems to be the case for a top WWE Superstar and now we know a bit more about what is going on.

Last week on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes defeated Carmelo Hayes in the show’s main event. During the match, Rhodes landed hard on his shoulder during a Cody Cutter attempt and the match ended shortly thereafter. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Rhodes is not listed as injured on WWE’s internal reports. This comes after Rhodes was asked if he was ok by Fightful Select and responded “always”. Rhodes is scheduled to defend the WWE Universal Title against AJ Styles this Saturday at Backlash.

Opinion: That is quite the relief as you never want to see someone get hut in any way. Rhodes being hurt would be a terrible situation for WWE as he is the undisputed top star in the company right now. Thankfully he seems to be ok for the time being and now WWE can get through Backlash and see where things go from here. For now though, things are going about as well as can be expected.
