You have to be careful being nice. Every wrestler is going to get injured at some point in their career. It’s just one of the many dangers of the sport and there’s no way around it. Sometimes it might be during the match and sometimes it might be during training, but other times injuries take place in the strangest ways. Like before a match, when you’re trying to be nice to the fans.
On Friday at Ring Of Honor’s Global Wars event in Buffalo, New York, Cody injured his knee before the start of a tag match. Before the match started, Cody was teasing throwing his shirt to the crowd and felt what he described as a pop. As a result of the injury, Cody was forced to pull out of his singles match at Saturday’s Global Wars event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. There is no word on how long he’s going to be out. Cody has tweeted both about the initial injury and missing the following show.
Going from one side of the crowd to the other last night, teasing a t-shirt toss of all things…heard a loud POP in my knee. Terryfing.
Hoping it was just a lil’ meniscus and Sunday I can still deliver. ?

Sadly folks I will not be able to wrestle tomorrow in Toronto. I will still be at the pre-show meet/greet to say hello to everybody
ROH & I will find a suitable replacement for the match. I’m extremely sorry. I’ll be able to confirm the extent of the issue after an MRI this week

At least he didn’t get hurt here.
Opinion: Well that’s one for the books. Hopefully there’s nothing too badly wrong with Cody’s knee and he’ll be back pretty soon. Those knee injuries can be dangerous, especially for wrestlers who are on their feet for the majority of their matches. Cody does the occasional high flying and not being able to move around on that knee might become a problem. If he’s ok in short order, it can be a funny story.
