I’d give it five stars. CM Punk left wrestling behind about three years ago and hasn’t seemed to look back since. Wrestling fans have clamored for him to return since the day he left but there’s no reason to believe he’s ever going to get back in the ring. However, a promoter has set up an offer that could make a return rather tempting.

According to the Sun, Five Star Promotions’ owner Dave Hinkles has offered Punk $1 million to take part in his 128 wrestler tournament, which starts in Liverpool, England on June 10. Hinkles said he’s been trying to get in touch with Punk for years but hasn’t had any luck. There is no indication that Punk, who is signed to the UFC, has any interest in returning to wrestling.

Opinion: I don’t think there’s any secret to the fact that this isn’t likely to happen but it’s a cool story to hear about. It would be cool if Punk made a one off appearance somewhere once his MMA career is done for good, even in a smaller promotion like this. If nothing else this gives Five Star Promotions a little buzz so it’s not like it hurts anything.
