Well that’s….different. Chris Jericho is one of the most versatile performers in entertainment today. Whether it’s interviewing someone on a podcast, rocking the heck out of a concert, or having a good performance in a WWE ring, the man knows how to be entertaining. As a Canadian, he’s also a hockey fan, which kind of goes along with being from the country. Couple that with connections to the entertainment industry and we have the makings for something interesting, which is what Jericho is doing again.

Jericho can be entertaining and has been doing it in WWE for the better part of twenty years.

Chris Jericho's WWE Debut

According to Yahoo Sports, Jericho has issued a challenge to country music superstar Carrie Underwood for a friendly wager for charity. Jericho’s Winnipeg Jets are playing Underwood’s Nashville Predators, which includes Underwood’s husband Mike Fisher, in the second round of the NHL Playoffs. Jericho has challenged Underwood to put up $10,000 on the series, with the winnings going to a charity of the winner’s choice. Should the Jets win, Jericho would pledge the money to an unspecified charity dealing with Type 1 diabetes. At the moment, Underwood has yet to accept the challenge and the series has played its first game.

Jericho was back in a WWE ring at the Greatest Royal Rumble. Check out the full results here.

Opinion: There’s nothing wrong with a friendly bet for charity. I’m not sure if Underwood will accept the challenge (especially now that Winnipeg has won the first game) but it was cool of Jericho to try. He could get some publicity out of it and if the bet is accepted, a charity will get a nice check out of it. If nothing else it might give some people a new interest in the series and that’s a good way to make things more fun. Hopefully something comes of it but if not, it’s a nice try.
