That’s the stuff. One thing that WCW was rarely accused of was producing homemade stars, though it wasn’t for lack of options. One of the best choices WCW had was Buff Bagwell, who had a great look and an even better finisher which should have sent him straight up the charts.
“My greatest moment of all-time had to be the night they asked me to join the nWo, that was like asking ‘Hey, do you want to join the Dallas Cowboys?’ during their three-year World Championship run. Of course you want to join them, so it was like joining the best team at the best time. So, joining that led to so many great things. I mean, I beat Ric Flair. Which is really a rare statement, ya know, not many people can say that. I actually beat Ric Flair, which is a huge thing on my list, but that just don’t happen a lot, Ric don’t lay down much.”
Here’s the interview in full:
Opinion: I was always a Bagwell fan and I really could have seen him going somewhere in WCW. Instead of actually going somewhere with that though, WCW decided to have him be a comedy goon and a lackey to Scott Steiner. Now that being said, those two were hilarious together but I’d have liked to see what else Bagwell had to offer.
