That’s not delightful. Matt Hardy is one of the most interesting as well as successful names in the history of professional wrestling. He’s won more Tag Team Titles than he knows what to do with and has even had some singles success of his own. His Woken/Broken characters were some of the most creative things you’ll ever see and he was even allowed to bring that to WWE. But now, it might all be going away.
Goodbye?
In a new video posted to his YouTube page, Hardy said that he has wrestled his last match for WWE. Hardy wrestled in a triple threat tag match with Bray Wyatt against the B Team and Dolph Ziggler/Drew McIntyre for the Raw Tag Team Titles. Hardy has been dealing with some injuries of late and says that he is leaving to spend time with his wife and two children. There is no word on if he’ll be working for WWE in another capacity.
Opinion: I’m pretty skeptical on this as you never know with Hardy. I know he’s injured and banged up and has been wrestling for a very long time, but there comes a point when you can’t do it anymore. At the same time though, this is Hardy, the guy who lives to swerve people. There’s no reason to believe that this is 100% legitimate, though there are enough signs that it might be. In other words, that’s right where he would want it to be if he’s going for a swerve.
