WWE.com has announced that Big Cass has been released from his contract. In a bit of a twist on the usual method, there is no mention of wishing him the best in his future endeavors. Big Cass has been with WWE since 2011 and debuted on the main roster in April 2016 along with tag team partner Enzo Amore. He returned from a torn ACL in April after being off television for eight months. His final match was a loss to Daniel Bryan this past Sunday at Money in the Bank.
Here’s how he went out.
Opinion: Well that was….sudden. Big Cass has been rumored to have heavy heat in the back due to his political statements but I’d be surprised if that was what led to his release. It’s not like he was that bad in the ring and they brought him back from injury just two and a half months ago. That sounds like him doing something else that brought this about suddenly, but there’s always the chance that it’s something like Amore where it was one moment that sent everything over the edge.
