I still don’t believe it. The last few years in wrestling have taught us to never say never. You never know what you might see, even if you don’t believe that it could ever happen again. Be it Shawn Michaels getting back in the ring, Daniel Bryan walking that aisle again, a women’s match main eventing WrestleMania or the Streak being broken, things can happen in wrestling that you never see coming and it can make for some fascinating moments when they actually happen. That was the case again this week.

At the end of this week’s episode of WWE Backstage, host Renee Young said that they were trying to have a big moment and that was going to happen then. She began a countdown and Cult of Personality started playing as CM Punk made his return to WWE television. Punk stepped onto the set and looked into the camera, saying that every time they think they have all the answers, he changes the culture. He said he will see us next week, which may mean that he has been brought in as a correspondent. Punk appearing on the show has been rumored for several weeks now but no deal was ever announced.

I don’t know what to say. Check out the big return:

This is Punk’s first appearance on WWE television since the 2014 Royal Rumble, when he walked away from the company, citing burnout and injuries. He has recently said that he was open to returning to the company, which he said had been his stance since initially leaving. There is a chance that Punk’s deal is with FOX Sports rather than WWE, though there is no word one way or another. There is no word on if Punk will wrestle for the company again, though he has said in the past that he is retired.

He does returns well. Check out his first WWE return from back in the day:

Opinion: I don’t know what to say here. I know Punk teased the heck out of a possible appearance but I didn’t think anything would actually happen. Either way, this is the kind of thing that is certainly going to make some headlines, while also raising the big question: will Punk wrestle again? I want to say no, but it’s going to be hard to turn down the kind of money that WWE could probably offer him. It’s getting people talking though, and that’s exactly the point.

Are you glad Punk is back? Will he wrestle again? Let us know in the comments below.
