The high flier can’t fly. We’re less than a week away from the Elimination Chamber pay per view, when six men will enter the show’s namesake structure in a match for the WWE Championship. It’s a pretty basic idea: people enter the Chamber at set intervals and the last man standing walks out as champion, likely heading on to defend the title at WrestleMania 35. However, one might be out before the match starts.
According to Fightful.com, Mustafa Ali is being pulled out of the match due to a variety of injuries, including a problem with his tailbone from the Royal Rumble and an eye injury which was made worse at a live event on Sunday night. This is not related to the injury from Randy Orton’s stomp to his face on a recent episode of SmackDown Live. WWE has yet to confirm the move and a replacement is not known at this time.
This one didn’t go so well for Ali. Check out his match with Orton from last week:
Opinion: I really hope this isn’t a long term injury, but more importantly I hope this isn’t another Revival situation. One of the biggest issues with the Revival has been their inability to stay healthy, which seemed to cause the company to lose faith in the team. Hopefully that’s not the case with Ali, who has shown a ton of promise in his short time on the main roster.
What do you think of Ali? Will he bounce back from this? Let us know in the comments below.
