It’s a new generation. There are all kinds of wrestling shows taking place every single week these days and it can be difficult to make one of them stand out. That is often done with special attractions, including top level stars showing up on shows where they might not normally appear. NXT is set to debut on the CW Network on October 1. The CW has issued a press release, by way of 411mania.com, announcing that the first show will take place in Rosemont, Illinois and feature a special appearance by CM Punk. The second show will take place on October 8 in St. Louis, Missouri, featuring a similar appearance by Randy Orton. There is no word on what the two will do on their respective shows or if NXT will regularly be on the road.

Opinion: It makes sense to want to start NXT’s run on the CW with big stars and it’s an idea that should work out well. Punk and Orton are top level names in WWE and having them show up to do something special will make the shows feel more important. They don’t even need to get in the ring and have a match, but I’m sure they’ll be doing something physical with some select stars.
