They might be on to something. WWE presents several events a year but only a few of them stand out above the others. There are certain shows where you can tell that something special is going on, especially when something unique happens during the event. That appears to be the case again this week, and it turns out that WWE sees it in the same way.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In The Family: Details On Jacob Fatu’s WWE Debut, Future With Company

This week’s SmackDown included Drew McIntyre attacking CM Punk, as well as the surprise debut of Jacob Fatu as the newest member of the Bloodline to end the show. According to Fightful Select, WWE considered this week’s show to be one of the biggest editions of SmackDown since WrestleMania 40 due to those two moments. The McIntyre and Punk segment was said to have been “planned meticulously”.

Opinion: I can see why the show was as well received as it was as it certainly felt important. That is often what makes things seem that much bigger and WWE nailed it this week. What matters now is following up on it, which is a lot trickier than setting things up. Hopefully they can pull it off, as they certainly got both stories off to a hot start in the same night.
