It was that bad. Injuries can be some of the worst things in all of wrestling as they can stop any wrestler in the blink of an eye. You might see someone put on the shelf out of nowhere and it can result in quite the pause in their career. Occasionally it can see the end of their career, which was a real possibility for someone who made a surprise return earlier this week after a long hiatus.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: One More Time: 42 Year Old Former WWE Champion Reportedly Signed To New Deal
This week’s NXT saw the return of Wes Lee, who confronted North American Champion Obi Femi after a successful title defense. This was Lee’s first appearance since December, when he announced that he would be needing to take time off due to an injury. According to Fightful by way of Wrestlingnews.co, the original diagnosis would have seen Lee missing at least a year, with the possibility of his career being over. Lee has since been cleared to return to the ring, though it is not clear when he will wrestle again.
Lee is quite the star. Check out what he can do:
Opinion: That is quite the scary concept, as Lee is still in the prime of his career and could have had the whole thing taken away. What matters is the fact that he is back to full health and can get back in the ring, which certainly wasn’t a guarantee at one point. Lee has already missed about five months and thankfully things healed up as well as they did, but dang it’s scary to think about how bad it could have been.
What do you think of Lee? Will he get the North American Title back? Let us know in the comments below.
