It might be a little while. We are just over two weeks away from the Royal Rumble and a good chunk of the fields for the show’s namesake matches have been set. More than half of the women’s field is ready and about half of the men’s field has been announced but there are still some spots to fill. Unfortunately, it seems that we do know two bigger names who won’t be included.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, neither Bayley nor Drew McIntyre will be available for the Royal Rumble. Bayley has been out of action since July 2021 with a torn ACL and is expected back in February or March. McIntyre is out of action with a neck injury and WWE hopes to have him back by WrestleMania 38 in early April. There is no word on what either is expected to do at WrestleMania.
These two should be good to go down the road. Check out what they can do, plus a look at the Royal Rumble:
Opinion: That’s some disappointing news in both cases, but at least it seems like they both have a light at the end of the tunnel. Being out of action for that long is never a good thing, but at least they should both be ready for the biggest night of the year. WrestleMania is the show that matters more than any other and it would be a real shame if the two of them weren’t around.
