That’s sad to hear. WrestleMania 37 has come and gone and that means it is time to start talking about what happened on the show. Being in the main event of WrestleMania is about as big of milestone as there is in WWE these days and it is the kind of thing that you can brag about for the rest of your career. Some matches are better than others, but this year’s main event has a bit of a bad mark against it.
The main event of the first night of this year’s WrestleMania 37 was certainly a historic one, as Bianca Belair defeated Sasha Banks to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion. This marked the first ever singles match between two women to headline WrestleMania, as well as the first time two NXT callups had been in the show’s main event. Unfortunately, tit does no seem to have had the best result.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there were several reports of fans leaving during the Banks vs. Belair match. The fans leaving could be seen on camera during the broadcast, though it is not clear how many left and stayed. The first night of WrestleMania was delayed about forty minutes due to weather issues, meaning that the show ended at about 11:50pm EST.
They had a heck of a match. Check out what happened, plus the fallout:
Opinion: This is quite the shame as not only was the match historic, but it was also a heck of a match, with both women putting in all of the effort you could have asked. They beat each other up rather well and the match looked like a struggle with a great story. Hopefully Belair wins over more fans, as she is completely primed to be the top star in the division for a long time to come.
