Back At It: Update On Roman Reigns' Status Following Return At Summerslam

He’s back. There are certain stars whose appearances can make a huge difference in a promotion. Those names do not always show up every week but it can be a game changer when they do. That is certainly the case with WWE, and one of the biggest stars the company has ever had recently made his return. Now we know more about what to expect from him.

Roman Reigns made a surprise return at the end of this weekend’s Summerslam, attacking Solo Sikoa during Sikoa’s match with Cody Rhodes. This was Reigns’ first appearance since losing the WWE Universal Title to Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. WWE is now advertising Reigns for this week’s SmackDown from Tulsa, Oklahoma. There is no word on when Reigns is expected to return to the ring.

Opinion: Just having Reigns show up again at Summerslam was a big enough deal but now having him back, even for a few shows, makes things feel that much bigger. Reigns has been the biggest star in the company for a long time now and while Rhodes might have eclipsed him, having the second biggest star back is not a bad thing. This very well could be the start of the Bloodline civil war and that has all of the potential.
