The revolving door. There are a lot of people who help put together any given WWE television program and having that many people around can cause some issues. WWE is known for having a fleet of writers around the company and that can become an issue with so many cooks in the kitchen. It can be a problem, but now one of the top chefs is suddenly gone.
The WWE writing team is a collection of people who might not have the best reputation in the wrestling world. There are a lot of them with little to no experience in wrestling and that can become an issue at times. Some of them have been in the business for a good while, but one of the more experienced and higher ranking members of the team is going away out of nowhere.
According to F4WOnline.com, SmackDown writer Chris DeJoseph has been let go from the company after returning in December. DeJoseph wrote for the company in the mid-2000s and has also worked for Lucha Underground and Major League Wrestling. There is no word on why he was let go, but according to PWInsider.com, DeJoseph had recently been promoted and was not let go as part of the cost cutting measures due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
You might remember him under another name. Check out DeJoseph’s time on screen:
Opinion: I’m curious to see what the reason for this was as DeJoseph is one of the better known names on the writing team. I know he hasn’t been back with the company all that long but it is a little strange to see him survive the Coronavirus cuts and then be let go less than two months later. I’ve liked some of his work before and I’m curious to see where he winds up.
