It was good while it lasted. WWE certainly does love its bosses. Whether they’re General Managers, Executive Assistants, Assistant General Managers or the Authority, you can almost count on WWE to have someone on any WWE television show to run things. As of last night’s big Monday Night Raw, the McMahons are in charge though and that means someone is leaving.
This week on SmackDown Live, Shane McMahon announced that Paige would no longer be General Manager of SmackDown Live. While she was out of power on the show, Paige will be sticking around in an undisclosed new role. Paige has been General Manager of the show since the first show after WrestleMania 34, which came a night after she announced her retirement from in-ring competition.
So long and farewell. Check out McMahon and the roster saying goodbye to Paige:
Opinion: This was something I was dreading and I can’t say I’m surprised. While Paige wasn’t the best boss ever or anything, she was perfectly solid in the role and wasn’t on television any more than she had to be. She could have been around for a long time but instead, we’re getting more McMahons, because the show that didn’t need to be fixed had to be fixed as well.
