Next man up. AJ Styles won his second United States Title about seven weeks ago and restarted the US Open Challenge as a result. This opens the door for several new challengers, which allows us to see some better matches as Styles is capable of having a strong performance with anyone. So who is up next?
After successfully defending the title against Tye Dillinger this week on “Smackdown Live”, Styles was attacked by Baron Corbin who had already tried to interfere in the match. Corbin laid him out on the floor and announced that he’ll be challenging Styles on next week’s episode.
Here’s how we got to the title match:
AJ Styles vs. Tye Dillinger - United States Championship Match: SmackDown LIVE, Sept. 12, 2017
Opinion: I’m hoping they don’t put this inside the Cell also as it really doesn’t feel ready for something like that. Now I’d completely buy the idea of this getting a pay per view rematch but I don’t think they’re ready for that kind of a gimmick match yet. Next week should work though, if nothing else due to Styles carrying things.
Who do you think wins the match? Will they have a rematch inside the Cell? Let us know in the comments below.
