Who you got? We are on the road to AEW’s Revolution pay per view and that means things are going to start getting a lot more interesting in a hurry. The show is in less than four days and that means that almost all of the card should be finalized. However, as is often the case in wrestling, the show had a last minute change and in this case it sounds like it could be pretty big.
One of the most surprising stories from last week was AEW signing Paul Wight, formerly known as the Big Show. That is a heck of a signing for the company as Wight had been a major star in WWE for so long now. The announcement said that Wight would be wrestling and broadcasting, as he will team with Tony Schiavone on the new Dark: Elevation series. That makes Wight a broadcast journalist and he now has his first scoop.
During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, Wight made his debut for the company and revealed that AEW will be announcing a new signing during this Sunday’s Revolution pay per view event. While Wight did not reveal a name, he did say that the person would be “Hall of Fame worthy”. There is no word on which Hall of Fame Wight meant or who the name will be.
AEW knows how to do debuts. Check out what they have done before:
Opinion: This is one of those things where the execution is all that is going to matter. At the end of the day, this could be anyone and that makes things all the more interesting. Above all else, AEW has a pretty good track record of making these things work. What matters now is pulling that off here and the good thing is I think they might actually be able to do just that.
